About Hull News & Pictures

Hull News & Pictures is a UK press agency covering Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. It was formed in 1996.

We provide images and stories to the regional and national media. We specialise in news, features, sport and public relations. The Sunday Times one day, the Sun the next. We really don't mind.

Our two principal photographers, Sean Spencer and Les Gibbon, also take pictures for many businesses and organisations including Kingston Communications, npower, The University of Hull, CPP, City of York Council, The Co-operative Group and Yorkshire Housing.

We are both trained in photo-journalism by the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ) and we are both former staff photographers at the Hull Daily Mail where we still have close links.

The main areas we cover include Hull, Beverley, Grimsby, Scunthorpe, York, Leeds, Scarborough and Goole. But we're quite prepared to travel anywhere in the UK if required. We love to travel to London on the train. We will even do jobs abroad if forced. The warmer the better.

We are patrons of the Hull & Humber Chamber of Commerce.

Training

Don't know your f stops from your elbow? We will teach your staff how to take pictures with impact using the office camera. We have already instructed staff at the University of Hull and Leeds City Council.
