26 March 2007: Colin and Josephine Arnold today outside their home in Ulrome, East Yorkshire, which is perched precariously on a cliff top after recent high tides and bad weather. The couple have lost over 70 feet of land in the 19 years they have lived there. Last week they lost another five foot. The couple have asked Ian Pearson, the Minister for Climate Change, to visit them. At the moment, residents do not receive compensation when they lose their property to erosion. The Arnold's claim that nearby sea defences have installed in 1992 have made things worse for them.
